Couple in their late 80s who met in 1947 finally tie the knot 7 decades later
This love story proves that its never too late to find true love.
The couple from Wisconsin met on a school bus in 1947. They lost contact for a while, but recently found each other again.
Janice, 86 years old, and Jim Catlin, 88 years old, found more than they expected when they reconnected. They discovered they were living near each other and decided to meet up. They were dating for almost a year, during which they saw each other almost every day.
“I found out not too long ago that we have lived in the same house and all these things were coincidental. I knew him right away when I first saw him,” Janice Catlin told WSAW.
It was only natural that they walk down the aisle after spending so much time together.
So last Thursday they decided to say “I do” at Portage County Courthouse, surrounded by their family and close friends.
When asked if he was nervous during the ceremony, Jim replies “I feel like im 21!”. They sealed the deal with a long and sweet kiss.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds got a celebratory chariot ride through the town and then went for pizza with their family and friends.
Congratulations the the happy couple! Their story is a reminder that life is full of unexpected surprises, and we never know what the future holds.
